A 20-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, serial no. 2037,
circa 1835 and possibly converted from flint, with expertly rebrowned 31in. twist barrels, the raised top-rib signed in script 'DONCASTER', bead fore-sight, starburst engraved to rib-end at breech, engraved platinum vents, vine and scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved clip-tailed locks signed on the bars 'CARTMELL' and also featuring dogs and game-birds, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, clip-cornered rectangular escutcheon behind top-tang, iron heel-plate and engraved oversize trigger-guard bow, pineapple finial and brass tipped mahogany ramrod
